Staff very unfriendly rooms very old and tired looking
They have just recently had it done up and downstairs looks amazing.
The rooms haven't been done up in a while so a bit dated however it says on their website that they should be getting done in January, so I would go back once they are! Only downfall was that the heating was broke in our room and the receptionist couldn't find us a heater so we were freezing, especially in November up in Scotland!
Radiators were not working in my room, on a very cold night. Told the receptionist, who told me "they were on a time switch" the heating was not restored, at all. The wash basin had no plug, not reported to the receptionist, as felt no point
Reception modern facilites in lounge/bar and food was good
Our room was unlocked by the housekeepers all day....did complain to reception. Cold Corridors No central heating that worked in our room.we had to plug an electric heater on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Slats on very modern bed were all unfixed and bed was broken,,,, No chair to very low mirror Room on the day left open wasnt cleaned sink left dirty, around kettle left dirty.
friendly staff and excellent food
the hotel rooms were in need of refurbishment which i believe is happening in 2013
The bar area was refurbished beautifully
Cold showers old fashioned draughty didn't provide requested cot radiator plugged in access in evening meant we had to walk through smokers at entrance with young baby. Quite intimidating
front of house very good
room needs a make over no hair dryer in room heating did not work
The location and cost. Hotel Restaurant was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was nice but could have done with a hairdryer.
Smell of room,no heating,dirty.
Our family room was very spacious and quite well appointed.
only thing nothing much for children apart from kids menu with crayons which is a nice touch.
Breakfast is good.
Room is too small and not like the picture when booking. Hot water would be cool and should be asked to hot it.
Its location was good and it was a lovely looking hotel
It was obvious that The Torrance has been renovated at the front eg reception, bar & restaurant, and even though the bedroom had a slight make-over the corridors were very dated and our shower didnt work as the shower head did not fit in the holder and therefore made it difficult to have an actual shower and it took 20mins for the water to heat up at 7pm. It was also very noisy with the small corridor.
very pleasant and local to shops, restaurants & bars.
comparing my room to the recent refurbished resturant my family room was dated and in need of some repair.
Very friendly staff and excellent meal at night. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Nice looking hotel, very friendly staff, excellent food.
No hot water from the shower, we stayed in room 22 and you needed to leave the shower running for ages before any hot water came through, very frustrating.
